Seedplay works like this: first you create a project and tell us how much you want to raise and by when, then you share your project page with your contacts and people can choose to back your project with any amount and receive rewards for giving certain amounts.
Finally, you keep expanding your base of backers by launching and completing projects that make a difference. The bigger the difference you make in the world, the more people will be inspired to back and share your project. You build a track record as you complete projects and your backers comment on your progress.
Seedplay enables people to help people make a difference in the world through social projects big and small. Founders create projects and get money, advice, and support from backers.
For backers, know that when you give to a project fundraiser, you are trusting the founder of the project to honor their word and do what they say they will do with the funds raised. We distribute your funds to them immediately, and there are absolutely no refunds, transfers, or returns. We empower you to have a voice on each project page to comment on your experience as well as review each founder's project history to make a powerful choice to back and share projects. Finally, all Seedplay transactions are gifts, not donations. They are not tax deductible unless the treasurer for the project is a 501c3 non-profit organization, in which case, you can work out receiving a tax deductible receipt from them directly. We do not get involved in that process whatsoever.
For founders, you create a project fundraiser page and set the amount of funds you are raising and by when, and can offer rewards to backers who are willing to give you larger amounts of money. Note, however, that you must fulfill on the rewards EVEN IF YOU DON'T RAISE THE FULL AMOUNT, so make sure that the all the costs associated with the delivering your reward to backers are significantly less than the amount for which you are offering the reward. We will notify you and your backers when funds are raised. Impress potential backers and engage current supporters by adding questions, comments and links to media pages that promote your projects. Be honest, and your backers will continue to grow for life.
